Super Yacht Mazu 82: Combining home and sea
Super Yacht Mazu 82 is a boat that represents the right combination of elegance and sportiness, with large windows that ensure (Open) sensations. Designed by interior designer Tanju Özeljin, it has an 82-foot external profile, corresponding to a length of 25 metres on both sides of the boat. Despite the important structure and thickness of the hull, the yacht is not without its interior spaces, dedicated to luxury living, which surpasses those of its first version, the now outdated 62-foot FlagShip. To maintain its structure in cruising speed, it consumes 600 litres of fuel per hour, in which it is possible to cover a maximum distance of about 400 nautical miles, depending on weather conditions.
Having an interior space increased by about 33%, it has been possible to reserve an elegant space available for a maximum of 12 people, comfortable in all its aspects, from the wooden finishes that cover the entire floor of the interior rooms to the refined fabrics that cover the sofas and relaxation areas. The furniture uses selected oak woods and elegant decorations, to improve the whole structure makes use of long bullet-proof windows on the sides of the hull to illuminate the living spaces as much as possible to be always in contact with the sea.
The most important part of the yacht is the interior; the windscreen (22mm thick) is partially used for driving. At the same time, the rest illuminates the areas intended for three different uses, kitchen corner, cinema area and sunbathing area. A long illuminated staircase connects the cabin, and the interior made entirely of wood. The shipyard’s founder Halit Yukay worked closely with Tanju to create what he calls important in a luxury yacht such as a yacht: “interiors and exteriors should never be defined as two different aspects, but as one, being in continuity with each other”. The most difficult challenge is always to recreate spaces in harmony with the entire architecture, not using many different materials but making the best use of them, giving character to each space by redefining it for its use but remaining in the context of the lightness of the materials.
The many windows aim to immerse the space inside with natural light; in fact, the sliding sunroof gives air to living spaces. Everything must always recall the idea of the house, the comfort that entertains the guest, making him feel wrapped up even though he is at the seaside. No less important is the artificial lighting, designed and created for the evening atmosphere but also to give light and make the interior furniture stand out in all its elegance, made of walnut and leather give an idea of luxury and refinement, the wonderful leather and Alcantara absorb the external sounds to make the night more joyful from the noises of navigation. The surfaces are made of synthetic material while the taps and bathroom accessories are by Gessi Gaggenau.
The most pleasant part of this wonder is certainly the one dedicated to the outside where you can completely relax and enjoy the sea where the yacht is located and the wonderful holidays lived on Super Yacht Mazu 82.
