« I’M THE ARTIST » by Simona Bonazzi

Ten years ago, photographer Simona Bonazzi created “I’M THE ARTIST” a concept in which models become artists during a photo shoot. Since then, she has taken her concept to Geneva, Dubai, London, Paris, Brussels and now her permanent studio is in Monaco.

 

 

What is the I’M THE ARTIST concept?

I’M THE ARTIST is “a family experience, but above all, it’s a memory for life,” as the photographer behind this idea tells us. Simona Bonazzi was carrying out numerous photo shoots for babies and pregnant women when inspired by the world of the artist Sterling Ruby, she decided to create an artistic experience around her photo shoots.

 

 

I’M THE ARTIST is a shooting during which children (and sometimes their parents!) can express themselves artistically around a theme, an event, or an idea, helped by the photographer. The result is unforgettable memories and photos.

 

 

An important birthday, photos of class friends before going abroad, words or expressions with a particular connotation between loved ones, a common family passion… There are many reasons why  contacted Simona. Do you want to be THE ARTIST?

To book your shoot, you can contact the photographer directly. Before your session, she will guide and support you so you can make the most of this moment. You can choose the background color, which will serve as a backdrop, define the theme, talk about the models who will participate, select clothing, consult the photos she has already taken, etc.

 

 

What happens during a session?

A session lasts between 45 minutes and 1h30, depending on the age of the children, and takes place as follows:

• Simona will put the children at ease, interact with them, do their makeup, do their hair,
• The children will first draw on an A4 sheet what they want to create on the canvas,
• The models then take their place in front of the colored background and let their creativity speak – the paint used is a gouache suitable for children found in nursery schools. Under the caring lens and stimulating energy of Simona, a total of 350 to 600 photos will be taken during the session. From these hundreds of photos, you choose the photograph printed on 50x60cm plexiglass. Simona Bonazzi will also provide you with digital files of the session in A4 format. If you want to keep the work created by your favorite models, it is also possible once the support is dry (the background size is approximately 2.75x2m).

If you do not participate in the session, Simona recommends that you attend for the pleasure of sharing this experience and pose at the beginning and end for a few photos.
