Where Art Meets Obsession: A Dialogue with Marco Michelini

At La Scolca, we believe that true luxury lies in vision — in the courage to anticipate the future while staying deeply anchored to authenticity and emotion. It is this philosophy that resonates so strongly with Marco Michelini and the world of MYFO – My Future Obsession.

In this exclusive interview, I had the pleasure of delving into Marco’s unique aesthetic universe: one where irony becomes elegance, color becomes energy, and design becomes identity. His work challenges conventions while remaining unmistakably personal, bold, and profoundly human.

MYFO is not just art. It’s a lens through which to see, feel, and live. And it is precisely this blend of artistic audacity and lifestyle expression that inspires us at La Scolca — a brand that has always celebrated the fusion of heritage and innovation.

Interview with Marco Michelini: The Vision Behind MYFO

Q: MYFO stands for “My Future Obsession.” What does that phrase mean to you personally?

A: It’s more than a title—it’s a manifesto. My Future Obsession represents the inner force that drives me to create, to anticipate, and to reimagine the future through the lens of art. It’s about being fascinated by what’s to come, while staying rooted in authenticity and emotion.

Q: How would you define the connection between art and luxury in your work?

A: For me, true luxury is not about what you possess, but about what you feel. Art becomes luxury when it evokes a profound response—when it’s unique, handmade, and emotionally charged. MYFO is a declaration that beauty, irony, and soulfulness can coexist at the highest level.

Q: What role does irony play in your aesthetic?

A: Irony is a tool of liberation. It allows me to reinterpret cultural symbols and icons without fear. By using irony, I invite people to look beyond the surface, to question norms, and to embrace contradiction. It’s where elegance meets rebellion.

Q: Many of your works use fluorescent colors and UV effects. Why this choice?

A: Fluorescent colors are energy incarnate. Under UV light, they come alive—they vibrate, they shout, they seduce. It’s a visual metaphor for inner intensity, for that spark we all carry inside but rarely show in the daylight.

Q: MYFO is both art and lifestyle. How do you balance those two dimensions?

A: I don’t separate them. MYFO is a lived experience. It’s art you wear, art you sit on, art you collect. I believe that our environments should reflect our identities—and MYFO offers a bold, unapologetic way to do that.

Q: Who is the MYFO collector?

A: A MYFO collector is someone who dares. Someone who values individuality, who sees art as a statement of self. They are people who live fully, feel deeply, and think ahead.

Q: What does the future hold for MYFO?

A: MYFO is constantly evolving. We’re exploring more immersive formats, cross-disciplinary collaborations, and bespoke commissions. But at the core, we remain obsessed with the future—always.
