Today, September 4th, 2025, the world of fashion has lost one of its greatest icons: Giorgio Armani, our King Giorgio, has passed away at the age of 91. The Armani Group announced that he “passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones,” after a period of illness that had already forced him, for the first time in five decades, to miss the Milan shows last June.
A myth I grew up with
I grew up with the myth of King Giorgio. His soft, refined jackets, that discreet elegance which — thanks also to American Gigolò — became the very essence of Made in Italy. And then there are the memories of my mother, who taught me how to dress with class — her sense of style shaped during her years in Loano at “Max Peter”, under the guidance of my mentor, Piera Ghidotti.
The pain of a personal loss
His passing strikes me deeply: it feels like the end of an era, of an elegance that not only dresses the body but elevates the soul. Armani was never just a designer — he was a beacon, a master. His vision guided generations, including my own, evoking the quiet strength and poise of a woman who commands respect through style.

I want to thank Giorgio Armani for the lessons he gave me, even if only through the example of his work — for the perfection of his lines, for that innate sense of restraint, for the ability to merge beauty with substance. His clothes did not merely dress the body, they clothed identity, confidence, and presence.
