Andy Warhol “landed here“ in Versilia with the Mazzoleni Foundation
Great success in Forte dei Marmi for the Pop Art Exhibition. A great presentation lands at Villa Bertelli, in the heart of Versilia. The protagonist is the undisputed genius of Andy Warhol, the master creator of the Pop art movement, now in great ferment throughout the world.
More than one hundred artworks, including graphics signed in original with his black felt-tip pen, “Memorabilia and Photographs”, inside the elegant rooms of the Villa, tell the story of this eccentric character who died in 1987 but is certainly a point of reference for lovers of contemporary art.

The exhibition, inaugurated on 28th January, will last until 29th May ’22 and already promises to be a great success with the public and critics. The curator of the public exhibition, sponsored by the Villa Bertelli Foundation, the Municipality of Forte dei Marmi and the Order of the Knights of Malta, is Simona Occioni, President of the Mazzoleni Foundation Onlus, which in the past has organised many successful exhibitions dedicated to Andy Warhol. She is assisted by Alessandra Mazzoleni, Events Manager, part of the same Foundation, who has followed and managed all the logistical, organisational and promotional aspects.
Present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony were the Mayor of Forte dei Marmi, Mr Bruno Murzi, the President of the Villa Bertelli Foundation, Mr Erminio Tucci, and the representatives of the Order of the Knights of Malta. Mazzoleni Foundation, a prestigious reality in the Italian cultural and artistic panorama, was founded a few years ago by the former Serie A referee and gallery owner Mario Mazzoleni and the current President Simona Occioni. Operates in the field of art, organise important and prestigious events to promote the contemporary artistic heritage and make it accessible, especially to younger fans.
The rooms of the Villa Versiliana do not only hosts Andy Warhol’s masterpieces. The Art Curator is intended to pay homage to the entire Pop art movement, placing side by side with the genius par excellence, some highly appreciated artists such as Gomor, Save The Musk, De La Vega, Giuliano Grittini, Mart Signed, Notturno Studio and Luciano Mancuso.
An excellent book shop was also created for the occasion, with numerous items on sale, such as cups, t-shirts, catalogues, notebooks, and shopper bags. A universe of colours, iconic characters, logos and very up-to-date brands make this event usable, easy to understand (the primary intention of the pop movement) and capable of turning ordinary objects into true artistic icons.
At a difficult time like the present, people need to be reassured, admire something cheerful, witty, imaginative, and nothing like Pop Art can satisfy this need… so immerse yourself in this historical space and discover the fantastic “Pop Universe”.
The exhibition will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
