Alassio Unites Against Violence Towards Women: Charity Evening on Friday, June 13 at Le Vele

An evening of solidarity, awareness, and action against gender-based violence will take place tomorrow, Friday, June 13 at 8:00 PM, in the elegant setting of Le Vele in Alassio.

This marks the second edition of the charity event organized by Wall of Dolls Liguria Onlus, with the patronage of the Municipality of Alassio and the special participation of Monaco Woman.

The evening is a powerful statement against violence toward women, transforming the date of Friday the 13th—often seen as unlucky—into a celebration of strength, unity, and resilience.

Jo Squillo, iconic artist, activist, and founder of the Wall of Dolls movement, will host the evening. Her voice and energy have long been at the forefront of the fight for women’s rights, and her presence underscores the importance of this cause.

Francesca Bovio, general manager of Le Vele, together with Niccolò Fiori, the owner of the venue, will welcome guests and officially open the event. Their commitment and support have been instrumental in making this initiative a reality for the second year in a row, turning Le Vele into more than just a location—into a place of meaning and community.

A key figure in the evening will be Barbara Bavastro, coordinator of Wall of Dolls Liguria, whose dedication and tireless efforts have brought the association’s mission to life across the region. Thanks to her guidance, Wall of Dolls Liguria has become a reference point in raising awareness, supporting survivors, and promoting cultural change. Her presence will bring depth and authenticity to the evening’s message.

The event aims to raise funds for projects supporting women who are victims of violence, while also promoting education, prevention, and empowerment. It is an evening designed to combine awareness with elegance, reflection with celebration.

Culinary excellence will be provided by Ristorante Scola, a long-time partner of Monaco Woman and supporter of the cause. Their refined menu will add flavor and style to an evening with heart and purpose.

The collaboration between Wall of Dolls Liguria, Monaco Woman, and the City of Alassio highlights the importance of building strong networks to combat one of today’s most urgent social issues. The Wall of Dolls project, born in 2013 from Jo Squillo’s vision, now has chapters across Italy. The Ligurian chapter stands out for its tireless activism and impactful community engagement.

The presence of Monaco Woman, the international women’s network, adds a global dimension to the evening. Their involvement reflects the idea that the fight against gender-based violence knows no borders and requires a collective voice.

Everyone is invited to attend this meaningful evening: locals, tourists, organizations, and anyone who wishes to stand up and be counted in the fight for women’s rights.

Because no woman should ever feel alone. Because dignity, safety, and freedom are not privileges—they are rights. And because even one night can ignite the change we need.
