Pininfarina Honored with 2021 American Architecture Award
Community-Oriented Office Building Concept, Torre Designo at Bosque Real, recognized at Winners Ceremony. Renowned Italian design house Pininfarina received a 2021 American Architecture Award for Torre Designo at Bosque Real, an ultra-premium commercial tower in Mexico City. The team of Pininfarina of America, the U.S. studio that developed the project, celebrated the accomplishment at an Awards Gala Dinner Ceremony hosted by The Chicago Athenaeum in conjunction with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

Torre Designo is a two-tower commercial building design created by Pininfarina of America for Grupo Bosque Real, a real estate investment and management company based in Mexico City. Located within Bosque Real’s six million square-meter, privately-owned “live-work-play” community, Torre Designo will be the latest addition to the exciting new mixed-use development on the outskirts of Mexico City. Working alongside architecture and interior design firm, SPACE, Pininfarina’s architectural design concept encapsulates 45,000-square-meters of multi-functional, flexible office space and a 57,000-square-meter lower retail level –– including extensive greenspace both indoors and out, intended to enhance the collaborative environment of the common areas for a mix of workers. Blending nature and modernity, Pininfarina blurs the lines with materials and shapes that relate to its immediate context, seeking to both excite and engage the nearly 4,000 residents that live in the neighbourhood.
“Torre Designo’s purchase-only model encourages long-term commercial tenants and community building in the area. Currently, 25% of the first tower is sold with anticipated construction completion in 2024. A wide array of amenities are available on the property, including a premium surgical clinic and a new concept of medical co-working offices called ClinicUS, attracting both local and international businesses in search of proximity to the facilities located within the mixed-use community” says Moises Salame, VP of New Projects for Grupo Bosque Real. The scheme for the building strategically activates each square foot of space throughout the day, leveraging an open plan that capitalizes on natural light and views of the lush, green landscape surrounding the community.
