In the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, the gala evening and award ceremony took place on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Salle Prince Pierre of the Grimaldi Forum.

The 21st Monte-Carlo Film Festival de la Comédie concluded with great success, an event conceived and led by Ezio Greggio, from November 27 to 30, 2024, at the Grimaldi Forum. After the decision made by the jury chaired by Anne Brochet, the members, Federica Sabatini, Ricky Memphis, and Andrea Ferreol, awarded the Spanish film directed by Dani De La Orden, which returns to the Festival for the fourth consecutive year, LA CASA EN FLAMES, which also won the audience award.

The best director award goes to Matthew Rankin for the Canadian film UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE. The best actor award goes to Argentine actor Marcelo Subiotto for PUAN and the best actress award goes to Marie Benati for the English film PAUL & PAULETTE TAKE A BATH. Finally, the Short Comedy Award in the section dedicated to short films goes to the Belgian film ALLEGRESSE, directed by Gillie Cinneri, featuring Clara Yelin and Georges Siatidis.

SPECIAL AWARDS
The MCFF Excellence Award was presented by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco to Oscar-winning director Giuseppe Tornatore, the special guest of the 21st Monte-Carlo Film Festival.

The MCFF Award was given to Peter Chelsom, director of A Sudden Case of Christmas featuring Danny De Vito and Andie MacDowell, a film presented outside the competition at the Monte-Carlo Film Festival 2024. Among his films are Security, The Space Between, Hector and the Search of Happiness, Hannah Montana: The Movie, and Shall We Dance.

The Special MCFF Award for outstanding career goes to actress Andréa Ferréol, muse of Marco Ferreri for La Grande Abbuffata, L’Ultimo Metrò by François Truffaut (nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the César Awards), and Sono pazzo di Iris Blond by Carlo Verdone, for which she received a nomination for the David di Donatello in 1997.

The MCFF Award 2024 for career excellence went to the eclectic Paola Minaccioni, star of brilliant comedies and serious films (Magnifica presenza, Ma cosa ci dice il cervello, Lockdown all’Italiana, and the highly anticipated Diamanti by Ferzan Ozpetek), Best Actress at the Nastri D’Argento for Allacciate le cinture. The MCFF Award 2024 went to international star Salvatore Esposito (Gomorra – La serie, Fargo, Spaccapietre), lead of the new Sky Original TV series Piedone – Uno Sbirro a Napoli, premiering December 2 exclusively on Sky, in the role of Vincenzo Palmieri, a police inspector and spiritual heir to the commissioner Rizzo, immortalized by the unforgettable Bud Spencer in the iconic Piedone Lo Sbirro (1973). Salvatore Esposito also presented his latest literary work at the Festival, a crime novel titled Le Streghe di Lourdes, published by Sperling & Kupfer, completing an engaging trilogy. The MCFF Award 2024 also went to Ricky Memphis for his performances in comedy films such as Immaturi, Vacanze di Natale a Cortina, and La mossa del pinguino, as well as in hit series like Distretto di Polizia and more serious projects like Tutto chiede salvezza and the film Ultrà.

Finally, the MCFF Award for the Young Generation was awarded to actress Federica Sabatini, a revelation from the TV series Suburra- La serie, Suburræterna, Red Mirror, and the anticipated Prophecy.

The event, in collaboration with EFG Bank (Monaco), has always been held under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince.
